Future Roadmap

The Financial Inclusion Gap
-
1.7 billion adults worldwide remain unbanked, and half of all adults are underbanked.
-
70% of banks disappeared between 1984 and 2020, making traditional capital access even harder to secure.
-
Fintech solutions have the power to bridge these gaps — but only if we train the right people to design them.

"Casey is a fearless and dedicated leader who was the tip of the spear in launching Hello Tractor's innovative tractor finance product. Her commitment to attacking bias forced me to address the bias that I brought to our work and I am a better leader for it."

Case Study:Structuring Scalable PAYG Financing for Agricultural Growth

Client: Hello Tractor
Industries: Agricultural Technology | Financial Inclusion | Asset Financing

Challenge:
Hello Tractor provides a tech-enabled platform that connects smallholder farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa with local tractor owners, expanding access to mechanized farming in underserved regions. However, despite strong demand, the supply of tractors remains critically low — with only 15,000 new tractors sold annually across the entire African continent.

Compounding this challenge, commercial banks allocate less than 5% of their loan portfolios to African agriculture, leaving agribusiness entrepreneurs with limited access to financing for equipment purchases. Without viable funding models, farmers remain trapped in low productivity cycles, reducing economic mobility and food security.
Blaze Group’s Solution:
To bridge this financing gap, Blaze Group structured and guided the design of an innovative Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) financing model, enabling agribusiness entrepreneurs to acquire tractors, generate income, and gradually pay down their financial obligation.
-
Revenue-Linked Repayments: PAYG customers make small, flexible weekly payments directly tied to the revenue they generate from servicing nearby farms.
-
Cash Flow-Optimized Debt Servicing: Repayments are based on actual work completed, minimizing financial strain while ensuring steady capital recovery for lenders.
-
Breaking Traditional Lending Barriers: By structuring credit in alignment with real-time agricultural activity, the model eliminates exclusionary barriers that previously kept small-scale entrepreneurs from accessing equipment ownership.

Impact:
-
$10M+ raised within the first 8 months of launching the PAYG pilot.
-
PAYG customers across three countries consistently exceed repayment expectations, paying ~110% of what they owe on average.
-
40% of tractor owners in the program are women, increasing gender inclusion in African agribusiness.
Scaling Sustainable Financial Solutions:
With Blaze Group’s strategic advisory, credit design frameworks, go-to-market strategy, and project management expertise, Hello Tractor successfully transformed PAYG financing into a sustainable, scalable financial solution — unlocking mechanization access and economic growth for Africa’s underserved farmers.
